  Gift Policy & Donor Rights

Urban Alliance, as a nonprofit incorporated under the law and with an active 501(c)(3) status, accepts gifts of cash, checks, and securities, as well as most other types of gifts and pledges including those of time and goods.  These gifts, made by individuals, families, or organizations, comprise the source of income that funds Urban Alliance’s youth employment programs.    The act of philanthropy is a deeply personal choice, and Urban Alliance respects each and every donor's preferences.

All gifts must be in accordance with Urban Alliance’s mission and core values:

Mission

Prepare youth from under-resourced neighborhoods in Washington, DC for a life of self-sufficiency through paid internships, adult mentoring, and education.

  1. Students Come First
  2. Remain Mission Focused
  3. Strong Follow-Through with All Stakeholders
  4. Support Each Other's Work
  5. Open & Direct Communication

These policies are to protect the clients Urban Alliance serves.
